Line Up Close and Personal: Stuart Grahame, Producer

Posted by: Stuart Grahame on June 25th, 2015 IN Fun stuff

The latest person to step up and complete the Line Up Close and Personal challenge, is Stuart Grahame. Stuart has been at Line Up for 9 years and is a Producer, focusing on Video Content. He has a witty sense of humour, is a natty dresser, loves a good sandwich , IKEA and the last song played at a wedding, especially if it’s the Grease megamix!

What three adjectives do you think your friends would use to describe you?

Are these answers vetted? No?!!? Well they’d probably say I’m outrageously ‘attractive’, ‘slick’ (dresser) and probably the most ‘awesome’ person they know…this doesn’t allow for comments does it?

Apart from working at Line Up(!), what are your other passions?

That’s a good one. There is plenty of stuff I enjoy doing so I’d say I have a passion for ‘fading’ and by that I mean trying new things all the time and taking up new hobbies not gradually becoming faint and disappearing. My fads usually recycle after 12 months but currently it’s Drones, Beer making (and drinking), Podcasts, making amazing sandwiches…oh my I love a good sandwich.

Who would you invite to your ideal dinner party (dead or alive) and why?

Do I have to cook? I’m an awful cook I’m more concerned with the cooking than the guests now. I mean I can make a good sandwich (obviously) but getting creative in the kitchen normally involves adding cheese. Cheese makes everything better. So that said I’m going to choose:

Elvis, another lover of a sandwich and cheese and can provide some background music

Louis C.K. to add humour into the mix

And finally Harry Houdini for after meal entertainment, although might be a bit weird him sat there in chains

Do you support a football team?

I do I’m an Arsenal fan, so I’m not sure what that says about me? I’m certainly used to being on an emotional rollercoaster for two thirds of the year. The rest of the time I spend building a Fantasy Football team played from the heart and not the head…who on earth puts Per Mertesacker in their squad right??

What has been your highlight working at Line Up?

Serious question now its business time. I’d probably have to say learning new skills or theory, nothing beats that feeling of working your mind and having a better understanding of a subject, method or trade. Cheesy (see what I did there) but it’s true and I imagine true of most people.

What are your three all-time favourite songs?

Are you ready?

  1. Grease Mega Mix – all those classics in one hit, genius!
  2. Alan Jackson : Drive – anyone who knows me that I love the country.
  3. I reserve this spot for the DJ who plays the last song at any Wedding I’ve been to, because I’m no doubt stood in the middle of the dance floor telling (by that I mean shouting) everyone that this is my all-time favourite song.

What was the first record you ever bought?

I didn’t buy records, how old are the people at this company? My first cassette was probably Engima : Return to innocence, I bet anyone reading this is now doing the weird chorus  I know I am.

What’s been your greatest achievement outside work?

I once went to Ikea on a Saturday, bought some flat pack and built it all in the same day without losing my cool. I should probably add that I got the hotdogs. Winner!

Do you have any unusual hobbies and interests?

Going to Ikea.

What’s top of your ‘bucket list’ of things you really want to do in life?

Crystal Maze or a Supermarket Dash – I’d be amazing at both and if you want I can give you a full break down of my strategy…No?!!? OK, don’t ask if you don’t want to know.

Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

Simples. Aztec Zone

What kind of car do you drive?

Lycra and pedal power for me, although I do have a Vespa.

Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with?

You after this barrage of questions or probably me talking about my Crystal Maze strategy wearing lyrca…oh that’s it questions over. Thank goodness.
