Line Up Close and Personal: Rebecca White, Logistics Manager

Posted by: Rebecca on September 26th, 2014 IN General news

We thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to our wonderful team on a more personal level, so welcome to our new blog series ‘Line Up close and personal’.

Our spritely Logistics Manager, Rebecca White is the second Line Upper to step up to talk about her interests in and outside of work. With her passion for travelling the world
and Queen Bey that come in equal measures, you’re sure to be in good company with Rebecca, aka Reebs.

Close and Personal 1

What three adjectives do you think your friends would use to describe you?

This question intrigued me too so I asked them! They said adventurous (I like doing new and exciting things – always with them in tow of course), happy and generous! What lovely friends I have, or maybe they’re after something if they think I’m generous…

Apart from working at Line Up, what are your other passions?

Travelling and seeing the world – I was lucky enough to take a 5 month sabbatical earlier this year so I went to a lot of places I have never been before – Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia!

Who would you invite to your ideal dinner party (dead or alive) and why?

Edward Scissorhands, Buddha and Beyoncé – maybe not all at the same time though!

Do you support a football team?

Hmm, no… but if any of the boys in my family are reading this then obviously Arsenal!

What has been your highlight working at Line Up?

An incentive trip to New York – I took an amazing group for Thanksgiving last year! It was a fantastic time to be in a city that I love and it was a really great programme (if I do say so myself!).

What are your three all-time favourite songs?

  1. Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison – reminds me of being a youngster and being sung to by my parents and siblings
  2. Faul – Changes – this is a bit of a new one so not an all-time fave but it was a bit of a ‘travelling song’ and conjures so many amazing memories!
  3. Any Beyoncé number…

What was the first record you ever bought?

I can’t actually remember the first CD I ever bought, but I know that one of my first concerts was Steps so it could have been them (eeek – the shame). Don’t judge me on that though – I’d like to think my taste has got better with age…

Do you have any unusual hobbies and interests?

I occasionally do Bikram Yoga and I recently went clay pigeon shooting which for me was pretty unusual (I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it). My boyfriend would probably say I have an unhealthy interest in shopping but that’s not that unusual for a 20-something-year-old girl.

What’s been your greatest achievement outside work?

I did a 15,000ft sky dive in Lake Taupo, New Zealand. The day I planned to do it, I got in the kit, assigned my instructor, got on the runway then we had to turn back because the weather changed. I thought that’s it, I’m never going to do it now, my chance has gone. I ended up doing it the next day on not much sleep and it was amazing! ‘Sorry Mum, I’m high!’ was the message I wrote on my hands.

Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

Asia – amazing beaches, people and food. I learnt to scuba dive in Bali and it was just amazing… Closer to home though, I love Italy! It’s beautiful and romantic – and the food and wine is top notch.

What’s your favourite ever TV ad?

John Lewis Christmas ads are always a winner. I know the guy whose house they filmed the snowman love story ad at; it was in New Zealand in summer and it was fake snow. It did shatter the dream a little!

Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with?

Probably an old school teacher.

What’s top of your ‘bucket list’ of things you really want to do in life?

Travel and scuba dive in the world’s top places.

What kind of car do you drive?

My car is a bus at the moment! I sold my car before I went travelling – I am currently looking so any suggestions welcomed…
