We think it is vital that we have the latest insights and information at our fingertips when planning events, meetings and incentives. When searching for a destination we like to have first-hand knowledge so that we can create bespoke experiences that truly resonate with the target audience. Kate Gunn, our head of logistics, recently organised a global conference in Singapore for one of our valued clients, and got a real feel for what the city-state has to offer.

It is one of the world’s leading commercial hubs, with the fourth-biggest financial centre and one of the five busiest ports in the world. The buzzing hub boasts a wealth of attractions, venues and facilities which are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.

We were lucky enough to visit in January, a week before Chinese New Year– the city really goes “all out” on decorations especially around Chinatown; we would highly encourage clients to go to Singapore at this time of the year.

We dined at the S.E.A Aquarium; coming face to face with sharks and manta rays whilst eating your dinner is quite an experience – one that we won’t be forgetting any time soon and would thoroughly recommend. Guests were also treated to a dinner at Palm Beach which overlooks the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel that has a laser show every hour from its roof – a real spectacle.

Attractions other than these great dining experiences include a river taxi tour around the legendary Marina – this trip is a real eye-opener in terms of seeing the old and new Singapore – and the cable car ride from the mainland to Sentosa Island, which provided great views of the city from the air. Don’t miss the breath-taking Gardens by the Bay – an amazing tourist attraction, with Supertree walks, Cooled Conservatories and Themed Gardens.

The first class service won’t fail to impress; an amazing can-do and friendly attitude prevails throughout the city – a trait that is alas harder to find in Europe!

You’ll find the largest and best meetings and conferences facilities at the Raffles City Convention Centre, which can hold a maximum of 3000 people, and the Concorde Hotel (maximum 800). In terms of an incentive trip, treat your guests to a stay at Raffles (and to the hotel’s world famous Singapore Sling cocktail!), ShangriLa or the Fullerton Hotel.
